How to Tell If My Flash Is Working

By Kevin Lee

Part of the fun of web surfing is enjoying movies, music, games and entertainment. The Adobe Flash Player provides this entertainment. Introduced as "FutureSplash" in 1995, Flash now powers 75 percent of all Internet videos. The Flash Player is small and installs quickly on multiple browsers and operating systems. If your player is not working, you cannot enjoy the full multimedia experience the web has to offer.

Step 1

Open your browser.

Step 2

Visit the Adobe Flash Player web page (see Resources).

Step 3

Look for a small panel that says "Version Information." If you see that panel, Flash is installed and working. If you see a button that says, "Click to download plugin," Flash is not working.
