How to Unlock the Key Board

Computer parts can sometimes become locked, either accidentally or by a change in computer settings. This includes the keyboard, an essential computer component that allows you to complete daily computer tasks. To unlock the keyboard, use the mouse to change a few settings.

Step 1

Press the "Start" button with your mouse. Click "Computer Settings", then "Control Panel."

Step 2

Choose "Accessibility Options". Click the "Keyboard" tab.

Step 3

Uncheck all three boxes labeled "StickyKeys", "FilterKeys" and "ToggleKeys".

Step 4

Click "Apply", then click "OK". Press the X at the top of the grey box to exit out of the settings panel. Your keyboard should now be unlocked.
