How to Upgrade Windows Media Player for Netflix

By Andrea Griffith

Netflix and other rental services are quickly replacing movie rental stores, as of 2010. Aside from having as many DVDs as you can watch mailed to your home, Netflx also offers the "Watch Now" option. Any movie or TV show that has a "Play" button beneath it can be watched immediately right from your computer via Windows Media Player on a PC. If the movie or show doesn't seem to work, you'll have to update your player.

From Media Player

Step 1

Open Windows Media Player.

Step 2

Click on "Tools" and then "Options" from the Media Player toolbar. Select "Once a Day" under Automatic Updates to view the Media Player updates.

Step 3

Click "OK" to confirm that you want to upgrade your Media Player. Allow the installation to complete.
