Take advantage of the official Facebook app for mobile devices to upload videos from your Android phone to your Facebook account. This is the only officially-supported method for uploading videos to Facebook from an Android device: You can't upload videos using the mobile Web browser version of Facebook. Download the Facebook app for free using the Play Store app, which is native to all Android devices.
Uploading Videos to Facebook From Your Android Phone
Tap the three-line Menu icon to load the Facebook app's main menu.
Touch the View Your Profile button at the top of the menu to open your Facebook profile page.
Tap the Photo icon at the bottom of the screen to load the Camera Roll on your Android device. Here you'll see a list of all videos available for upload from your phone. Videos are identified by a small Play icon, which is superimposed over the thumbnail.
Touch the video you want to upload and then tap the Done button in the top-right corner of the screen.
Customize the rest of the post. Enter a description to accompany the video. Tap the To field to select your audience, if desired. Use the menu icons at the bottom of the screen to add tags, share your location and select your mood.
When you're finished, touch the Post link in the top-right corner to upload your video.
Mobile Video Uploading Tips and Troubleshooting
Long videos can take a while to upload, particularly if you're accessing Facebook using a slow connection. If your video takes long than a couple of hours to upload, report the problem to Facebook using the company's Report a Problem tool. Tap the three-line Menu icon in the top corner of the app, scroll down and select Report a Problem. Follow the prompts to describe your problem to Facebook.
Whenever possible, connect your Android device to a strong Wi-Fi signal when uploading videos. This ensures a fast, stable connection and saves having to use part of your monthly mobile data transfer quota.
Facebook accepts most mainstream video file formats, including AVI, FLV, MP4, MPEG, WMV and a host of others. However, the company recommends using the MP4 and MOV formats: Uploading videos in one of these two formats simplifies and speeds up processing after you've uploaded a video.
