How to Wire in a Sony Surround Sound

Things You'll Need
- Sony Speakers with Receiver
- DVD Player
- Coaxial Digital Cable
- RCA Cables
- 2 HDMI cables
Install your speakers to your wall or speaker stand. Depending on your Sony surround model, use your place your speakers correctly. Some models come with speaker stands and others do not. Use your manual to set up the speakers correctly.
Connect the cables of your center speaker into the left and right inputs on the back of the receiver labeled "Center." Place your center speaker centrally on top of the TV or your TV shelf.
Connect the left and right front speaker cables into the left and right audio input jacks in the front speaker section on the receiver. Both sections have been labeled for ease.
Connect the left and right rear surround speakers in the labeled surround section on the back of your receiver. Connect the subwoofer cables into the subwoofer category on the back of the receiver.
Plug the coaxial digital cable into the digital output of your DVD player, then plug the other end into the digital input of the receiver. Plug the red and white RCA cables into the audio output on the back of your receiver, and the other end into the red and white audio input on your DVD player.
Plug the yellow video cable into the video out on your DVD player, if you do not have a digital coaxial cable. Plug the other end into the yellow video input on your receiver.
Plug a HDMI cable into the HDMI out of a Blue-ray player if that's your DVD source. Plug the other end into the DVD under the HDMI title on the back of the receiver. Plug one end of another HDMI cable into the HDMI input on your TV, and the other end into the HDMI out under the HDMI title.
Connect one end of another red and white audio RCA cables into the output of your CD player if you want your CD connected to your surround sound. Connect the other end to another audio input on your receiver.
