Orbby Fitbug
PROS
- The Orb's biggest selling point is its price. At $50, the Orb is easy on the pocketbook.
- With a common watch battery for power, there's no need to worry about recharging for six months.
- It's light, comfortable and can be worn different ways as it includes a wristband, belt clip and lanyard.
CONS
- It's not waterproof. The occasional splash is OK but you wouldn't want to wear this in the shower.
- It lacks USB connectivity. Bluetooth is all you get.
- The device has no status display so you have to use your phone or computer to see how you're doing.
If you’re new to activity trackers and want to test the water, the Orb offers key functionality at a great price.

Fitbug's app is bright and friendly. When you first open it, the app shows the number of steps you've taken in big, bold colors at the top.

This means you can wear the device on your write, belt, on a lanyard, or clipped to another piece of clothing. For people not wanting to wear a big white (also available in pink) strap on their wrist with the tracker in, this is perfect!
I liked that the Orb set my activity goals for me, but if you wanted to set your own goals, you'd be out of luck.

In my experience, the Fitbug Orb's setup process wasn't as easy as getting up and running on other platforms.

One thing that works massively in the Orb’s favor is the choice of wearing options--out of the box you get a watch-style wrist-strap, belt clip, and another wrist-strap which looks like it’s designed to be worn loosely around your, well, wrist.

My biggest disappointment with the Orb is that it simply doesn’t count your steps accurately, and that’s a pretty major shortcoming in a device that’s essentially a smart pedometer.

One of the more interesting features of the Orb is that it uses replaceable batteries rather than rechargeable batteries and the battery lasts for up to six months of use.
I like instant gratification, so my tracker has to have some easy method to see my progress. The Fitbug Orb fails that requirement for me.
