Galaxy Tab S 8.4by Samsung
PROS
- The super AMOLED display of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 looks gorgeous and makes movie-watching a pleasure. The portrait orientation and high-resolution, 8.4-inch screen is great for reading.
- Battery life on the Tab S 8.4 is good, and it can go several days on standby.
- An additional 128GB of storage can be had with a microSD card. That's more storage than any iPad Mini, ever.
CONS
- Performance is good in most circumstances, but the interface can be laggy at times.
- Wireless benchmarks showed that the Tab S 8.4's range was on par with the iPad Mini, but it fell behind in speed.
- Like the Galaxy S5 and Tab S 10.5, the fingerprint scanner on the 8.4 is frustrating to use and unreliable. It often requires contorting your finger in order to register.

The built-in speakers on the Tab S 8.4 sound good, although they lack the well-rounded bass we'd have liked to hear.

I'm amazed that Samsung got a microSD card slot into something this thin, but there it is.

When taxed with Asphalt 8 or less intensive games such as Blek though, the Tab S 8.4 is dreamy.

Some won’t think it’s as classy as the iPad, but I doubt anyone could call it ugly.

This is Samsung’s best skin by a long shot, and pretty much looks and acts like it’s Android, and not some grotesque Samsung experiment.
