It isn't always easy meeting other moms near you who you'd actually want to hang out with. Sure, you meet parents at your kids' schools, toddler groups, and birthday parties. But what if there was a way to find moms who have the same mindset and general interests as you? You'd probably start looking forward to playdates, and maybe you'd even turn those playdates into hikes or happy hours.
Well, guess what? There's a way. A new app called Peanut does exactly that. Peanut is an app that connects moms who live near each other and are interested in hanging out. Peanut is on a mission to build a community of women who happen to be moms. Their philosophy is that the more women you have in your life, the better it becomes.
It's basically Tinder for mom friendships.
Through the app, you can find moms in your area, chat, create group chats, suggest meet up times, and create invites.
Similar to dating apps, a swipe up will give the other mom a wave, and a swipe down lets you skip their profile — the focus being on shared interests. This may include things like if they work full or part-time, what languages they speak, and if they're outdoorsy. It also displays the ages of the children, so you can set up playdates if you want.
Peanut is free for iOS.
