Directions to Stream Movies on a Vizio E Series TV

By John Mitchell

A Vizio E Series TV with Vizio Internet Apps (VIA) lets you stream movies over the Internet directly on the high-definition screen. You will need to have a wireless Internet router to stream the movies and select from one or more of the available movie-streaming apps. You will find Netflix, Hulu Plus, Blockbuster Video, VUDU and Amazon Instant Video in the VIA Apps section of your TV widget controls.

Things You'll Need

  • Wireless Internet router

Step 1

Turn on your Vizio E Series TV. Press the "VIA" button on the remote control.

Step 2

Use the left or right arrow keys to scroll across the bar until you reach the "Widget Gallery" app. Press the "OK" button to open it.

Step 3

Hit the down arrow on the remote until you reach the "Categories" tab. Press "OK."

Step 4

Find the "Photos & Videos" category. Highlight it with the onscreen selector and hit "OK."

Step 5

Browse the apps until you find the one you want to install. Press "OK" after highlighting the item. On the next screen, press the down arrow to go to the "Add Widget to My Profile" option and hit the "OK" button. The app is automatically installed to the bottom VIA Apps bar.

Step 6

Press the "VIA" button on the remote again. Scroll left or right with the directional arrow keys until you get to the video app you installed. Press the "OK" button to launch it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Each movie-streaming app requires that you sign up for an account or pay for the additional service before using the full features of the application.
  • After launching the movie-streaming app, verify the membership credentials and browse for a movie title to watch. Pressing the "Play" button on the remote starts playing movies on most services.
