According to the PayPal website, PayPal users without premier or business accounts do not have account numbers of any kind. Instead, these account holders use their registered email addresses as their account ID to send and receive funds. To retrieve your registered email address, if you have lost or forgotten it, you can attempt to log into your account using the "Problem Logging In" link. You can enter up to three possible email addresses, and PayPal will find a match. You can then answer your security questions and have the password sent to your email address, allowing you to log in to your PayPal account. For premier and business accounts, a merchant ID number is provided. It is a unique number primarily used for ID verification in the case of credit card transactions.
