How Do I Deactivate My Net10 Phone?

By Andrew Todd

Net10 is a pre-paid cellular telephone service that offers its customers voice, text messaging, multimedia messaging and Web access for a flat monthly rate. The service is available nationwide and calls placed outside of your local area are not subject to hefty roaming charges. At any time you can cancel your Net10 service, which automatically deactivates your phone. Alternatively, if your phone is lost or stolen, you should deactivate it to prevent any unauthorized use.

Things You'll Need

  • Account holder's name
  • Telephone number
  • Cellphone serial number

Step 1

Do not purchase additional airtime at the end of the current month. Once the month elapses, your current air time will expire and the phone will automatically deactivate.

Step 2

Call Net10's customer service center at 877-836-2368.

Step 3

Listen to the automated menu and select the option to speak with a customer service representative.

Step 4

Provide the customer service representative with all of the information requested, which may include the account holder's name, telephone number, address, birthday and last four digits of his Social Security number.

Step 5

Provide the customer service representative with the serial number of the phone that you would like to deactivate. If the serial number is not known, provide the representative with the telephone number associated with the phone, as well as the make and model of the phone. The representative will access the phone in their system and deactivate it.
