How to Add a Favicon in GoDaddy

By Diana Braun

GoDaddy is a Web hosting and domain registration site that was launched in 1997 with over 45 million hosted domain names as of 2011. Users who register a domain with GoDaddy can host their website for free or through a paid plan. A website icon, known as a favicon, is often displayed in the address bar next to the URL and can be changed to an image that matches your website. The favicon must by 16-by-16 pixels in size and saved as a .jpg, .gif or .png format.

Step 1

Log in to your GoDaddy Account Manager (see Resources). Enter your customer number and password at the top of the page and press "Enter." The Account Manager dashboard should then launch.

Step 2

Click "Quick Blogcast" under "My Products" in the left side of the page.

Step 3

Click "Manage Account" next to the domain you wish to add the favicon to.

Step 4

Step 5

Click the "General Settings" tab and click the "Browse" button next to "Favicon."

Step 6
