How to Adjust iBooks Margins

By Alexander Poirier

By default, the iBooks application uses a ragged justification that results in the margin on one side of the text being larger than the margin on the opposite side of the text. If you want to adjust the margins so that they are even on both sides, you must enable the application's "Full Justification" setting. Alternately, if the setting has been changed and you want to adjust the margins back to ragged justification, you can do so by disabling the "Full Justification" setting. This setting can be changed and the margins adjusted through the "iBooks" section of the "Settings" application.

Step 1

Tap the "Settings" icon on the iOS device's home screen.

Step 2

Scroll down to the application section of the "Settings" screen and tap the "iBooks" option.

Step 3

Tap the slider to the right of the "Full Justification" option to switch the slider to the "ON" position and enable full justification. If the setting is already on, switch the slider to the "OFF" position to disable full justification.

Tips & Warnings

  • To avoid white spaces while using full justification, turn on the "Auto-hyphenation" setting in the iBooks settings menu.
