How to Backup an iPhone Without iTunes

By Kim Sarah

Your iPhone is filled with files and data that might be important. You should back up these files to your computer so that they can be saved in the event that your iPhone is disabled or broken. The back-up process does not need to involve iTunes in anyway. An iTunes manager software called 4Media iPhone Max can get the job done in a few simple step.

Things You'll Need

  • 4Media iPhone Max software
  • Computer
  • USB cable

Step 1

Install 4Media iPhone Max on to your computer. Insert the program CD into the CD disc tray of your computer. The program installation should automatically begin. If it does not, go to the Start menu, click "My Computer" and select your CD drive. Click the 4Media iPhone Max file name to launch the program. Follow the software's on-screen instructions to complete installation.

Step 2

Connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable. The software will automatically recognize your iPhone.

Step 3

Click "Library/Playlist" on the screen.

Step 4

Select the files that you would like to back up by clicking the small boxes to the left of the files.

Step 5

Click "Export Checked Files to Local Folder" and then "Export to Local" to bring up a save menu.

Step 6

Select the location in which you would like to store your files by clicking on that folder. The selected files transfer to that location.
