How to Block a Number on a GoPhone

By Mandy Slake

AT&T allows users to block caller ID on a per-call basis through the menu on their handset. The instructions vary depending on what make and model of handset the user has. GoPhone is AT&T's prepaid wireless service. Users can also block caller ID permanently on all calls, or block their names and allow their numbers to go through.

Step 1

Open your web browser and go to the AT&T Phone & Device Support page. You can find the link in the Resources section.

Step 2

Ignore the first drop-down box, since it doesn't apply to GoPhones. Click the second drop-down box to select the manufacturer of the phone. Click the third drop-down box to select the model. Click "Next" to display the support menu for your phone.

Step 3

Click the "+" next to "Calling Features" in the left-hand menu bar and click "Caller ID" to display detailed instructions for your GoPhone.

Step 4

Follow the instructions to block your number.

Tips & Warnings

  • AT&T also allows you to block caller ID on all calls, or to block only your name and not your number. These types of blocks require a feature on your account. Add the feature by calling AT&T at "611" from your GoPhone or (800) 331-0500 from another phone.
  • If you don't know what your model number is, you can select the phone visually by clicking on "Find your device by image" on the Phone & Device Support screen.
