How to Clean Gorilla Glass on a TV

By Nicole Martinez

Corning manufacturers a type of glass known as Gorilla Glass, for electronics. Gorilla Glass is especially resistant to scratches and smudges due to a special coating on the glass. If you own a television with a Gorilla Glass screen you can quickly wipe away every day dirt and smudges to clean it. Keeping your televise screen clean enables you to view your favorite shows and movies in unblemished quality even if you have children or pets that add fingerprints, fur and dust to the screen.

Things You'll Need

  • Microfiber cloth
  • LCD cleaning spray
  • LCD cleaning wipes

Step 1

Wipe the glass screen with a clean, microfiber cloth. Although you purchase microfiber cloths especially for electronics you can also find them in optometry and automotive stores. Use gentle wiping motions. If you are only worried about smudges and light dirt this is a quick option that does not require specialty products.

Step 2

Spray the Gorilla Glass on your television with an LCD cleaning spray that you can purchase from electronics stores. Use a gentle wiping motion with a clean and dry microfiber cloth to clean the screen. This method will not only remove smudges and dirt but LCD sprays can kill bacteria as well.

Step 3

Purchase disposable electronic cleaning wipes from manufacturers such as Klear Screen. These single use wipes work well for mobile devices on the run and can kill bacteria and remove dirt with their moisture. You can then buff your television screen dry with a microfiber cloth.
