How to Connect Vizio VX20L to External Speakers
Vizio's VX20L flat-panel LCD television is a compact television, perfect for use in a bedroom, den or other room or setting where you don't need a large television. The VX20L has built-in speakers, but if you want to improve the audio performance you can do so by connecting external-powered speakers, like those used for computer desktop systems. Hooking them up is a simple process.
Things You'll Need
- Powered computer speakers
Place one speaker on either side of the VX20L's screen. Typically the speaker with the volume knob goes on the right side.
Place the cable that connects the two speakers behind the television where it'll be out of the way.
Plug the input cable of the speakers into the headphone jack on the right side of the television.
Plug the power cord for the powered speakers into a wall outlet or power strip. Set the volume for the powered speakers to about 50 percent.
Turn on the television and adjust the volume to your normal listening level. If the sound is too low, adjust the volume on the speakers up. If it's too loud, adjust it downward. Once you've "dialed in" the sound, you'll control volume through the television, using your remote control.
