How to Deactivate a Blogger Account
Since Google acquired the free blogger service Blogger, you can access both services, as well as other Google products such as Google Reader, by signing in with your Gmail account. If you no longer have use for your Blogger blog, you can delete it from your Blogger account. However, your Blogger account and profile will remain active. If you wish to deactivate your Blogger account permanently, you must also permanently delete your Google account.
Log in to your Google account in your browser.
Click "Manage Account" from the top, right navigation.
Click the "Edit" link next to My Products.
Click "Close account and delete all services and info associated with it" from the list of options.
Place a check mark next to all the Google services to indicate that you understand you will no longer be able to access those services.
Type your current password into the text box and place a check next to "Yes, I want to delete my account" and "Yes, I acknowledge that I am still responsible for any charges incurred due to any pending financial transactions" before clicking the "Delete Google Account button."
Tips & Warnings
- Deleting your Google account is the only way to truly deactivate your Blogger account as well. However, you will lose access to all Google services connected with the account, including Google AdSense, Google AdWords, FeedBurner, iGoogle, Gmail and YouTube.
