Like computers and any other devices that can connect to a network, the HTC Desire has a unique number encoded into its Wi-Fi adapter, known as a Media Access Control, or MAC, address. Depending on your router settings, you may need this number in order to grant your phone access to a network. You can find the MAC address on any HTC Desire by looking at its Hardware Information screen.
