How to Find People on Facebook Knowing Their Name and City

By Maya Walker

Facebook offers an online search tool you can use to locate friends by name and city. You can find any person on the social networking site by searching with basic information unless the friend's privacy settings restrict searches by name. When you search for a person, you are presented with every profile that fits your search criteria. Using the information you have, you can quickly narrow down and locate your friend.

Step 1

Open your Web browser and navigate to Enter your username and password and then click "Log In."

Step 2

Enter the name of the person you are searching for in the "Search" field at the top of the screen. Results will be displayed under the field. Click "See More Results" at the end of the results.

Step 3

Click "People" in the left panel to exclude other results such as pages and applications.

Step 4

Enter the city associated with the person you are searching for in the field next to the "Location" drop-down menu. Press "Enter" to narrow the results.

Step 5

Review the list of people found. Click the profile picture of the you searched for to view her profile.
