How to Have a Hidden Album on Facebook

By Morgan O'Connor

Facebook gives you a simple way to share everything ranging from information about your activities to albums of your own photos. However, posting something on Facebook does not necessarily mean you are allowing the entire world to see it. You can, for example, select only certain people to see a particular status update. Similarly, you can make a hidden photo album that only certain people can see. To those not among the chosen few, this album is invisible and does not appear in your list of albums.

Step 1

Navigate to your Facebook profile, and then click the "Photos" link on the left side of the page.

Step 2

Click the "Upload Photos" button near the upper-right corner of the page that opens.

Step 3

Select the photos you wish to include in your hidden album, and then click "Open."

Step 4

Fill out the name and location of your album. Click the words "Friends Only" where they appear in the "Share album with" section. This opens a list of options. Click "Customize" in this list.

Step 5

Select either "Only Me" for a completely private album or "Specific People" in the "Make this visible to these people" section. If you selected "Specific People," type the names of the people who you wish to be allowed to see this album into the field provided for the purpose.

Step 6

Click the "Save Setting" button. Click "Create Album" to finish creating your hidden album.
