How to Insert a Link on a Flickr Description

By Robert Schrader

Flickr is an online photo-sharing platform that allows you to store, organize and share your photos with other Flickr users. Adding titles, descriptions and tags to your images not only provides additional information to users who browse them but also increases the likelihood of someone stumbling upon them through an organic search of the site. You can insert a URL in your Flickr description to provide a link that visitors can follow to view your website or blog.

Step 1

Log in to your Flickr account and navigate to the photo description that you want to edit. Select the "Click Here to Edit Description" link.

Step 2

Paste the following code into the "Description" field:Description

Step 3

Replace "websiteURL" with the URL of your website. Your website URL must be enclosed in quote marks. So, if your website is mysite.com, the code would look like this:Description

Step 4

Replace "Description" with a description of your site -- this can be your site title or any other short description. For instance, if you refer to your website as "My Home Page," your tag now looks like this:My Home Page

Step 5

Click "Save." Test your link to make sure it directs viewers to your website.
