The Lock Screen on iPhones keeps keys from accidentally being hit by requiring the user to move a slider to access the phone's functions. Some find the utilities' date and time stamp a useful addition, while others would prefer the opportunity to display a favorite image. There is a privately-developed app (or application) that allows an iPhone's owner to place any text in the place of the time/date stamp, or no text at all. However, only "jailbroken" iPhones with tweaked settings can install this application.

Click the "Cydia" icon in your list of applications to launch the app downloader. Most of the open-source content in Cydia is free, but there is also a "Cydia Store" for purchasable programs.
Search for the keywords "Make It Mine," the open-source program that allows users to edit or erase the date/time stamp. Alternatively, you could search for "MIM," a commonly-used acronym for the software.
Click the "Download" button beside the app name when you find it in the search results.
Open the app from your list of applications on your phone. Look for the editing options under the "Lock Screen" heading and either leave the time/date stamp field blank or put a space in it.
