How to Remove the Stand on a Westinghouse LCD
Westinghouse LCDs are designed for easy mounting using a wall or desk-mount system, but in order to mount the LCD successfully you'll first have to remove the base that the LCD is attached to. Removing this base is very easy once you know where the connections are located, and the entire process can be done in a matter of minutes.
Things You'll Need
- Phillips-head screwdriver
Place the Westinghouse LCD onto a strong, secure, flat surface.
Turn the LCD facing away from you so that you can access the back of the unit.
Remove all video, audio and power plugs.
Locate the four silver screws on the side of the spine of the LCD panel. There are two on each side, between the vent on the panel's spine and the vent on the rear of the screen.
Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the four screws. When unscrewing the panel from the stand, you should lean it against a wall to prevent it from falling forward.
Raise the LCD panel directly up from the stand. The panel should slide right off on the two rails connecting it to the stand.
Tips & Warnings
- Larger LCD panels are heavy, so if dealing with a 32-inch panel or larger, have someone help you.
