How to Remove Yourself from Meetup Groups

Users join Meetup groups centered around common interests or themes, and the groups arrange "meetups" for their members revolving around the shared interest of the Meetup group. The site has several features that helps its members locate meetup groups in their area based on their interests, such as politics, hobbies, artistic pursuits or books. If you ever change your mind about being a member of any group, remove yourself from it.

Step 1

Log into your Meetup account.

Step 2

Click on "Account" in the upper right menu.

Step 3

Click on the link that says "Membership and Communication" in the small blue box on the left.

Step 4

Scroll down to the Meetup group you'd like to leave, and click "Leave this Meetup Group."

Step 5

Let the group moderator know why you're leaving the group in the comment box on the following page. This is an optional step; you aren't required to write anything in order to leave the group.

Step 6

Click the red "Leave This Group" button below the comment box.
