How to Replace a Plantronics Battery

By William Pullman

Plantronics manufactures Bluetooth headsets for use with mobile phones and other Bluetooth enabled devices. The company's headsets have a rechargeable battery that is good for a multitude of uses. Older models of the headset allow access to the battery. Over time, the battery's overall charge will diminish. When this happens, you'll need to replace the battery.

Things You'll Need

  • Replacement battery

Step 1

Slide the battery cover open by pressing on it. The battery cover is located near the top of the headset, on the opposite side of the earpiece.

Step 2

Pull on the small tab sticking out of the compartment to dislodge the battery. The wires connecting the headset to the battery are exposed when the battery is pulled out of the compartment.

Step 3

Unhook the battery cable by pulling on the base of the wires. This will unplug the battery. Dispose of the battery in a proper waste receptacle.

Step 4

Plug the replacement battery into the wire attached to the headset, and place the wire in the battery compartment.

Step 5

Place the battery over the wire in the battery compartment and slide the battery cover over the replacement battery to complete the installation.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not force the battery wire plug into the headset wire plug or you will damage the connecting piece. The battery wires should connect with little effort.
