If you want Netflix to carry a film, documentary, or television program that is not in their current catalog, you will need to make a special request. The Help Center provides two ways that you can make a special request. To change other things, like your account email address or billing plan, you can use the links on the Your Account screen.
The Help Center
To reach the Help Center, first log on to Netflix and then mouse over your account name in the upper right-hand corner. A menu appears. Click "Help Center". The Help Center provides links with answers to common questions. You will see categories like "Learn About Netflix", "Manage My Account," "Watching Netflix," and more, but none of the selections will let you make a direct request for a new title. To request a new title you will need to communicate directly with a Netflix representative using a chat session or by calling the customer service number.
Contacting Customer Service
Find the "Start Live Chat" link on the Netflix Help Center screen and click it. A chat window appears and a Netflix operator will begin a chat session. If you don't see the chat window make sure your browser is not blocking pop-up windows. Ask the operator to order your suggested title, and the operator will relay your request to the responsible department. There is no guarantee that Netflix will act on your suggestion, and if Netflix acquires your title the operator can not tell you when it may appear.
If you can't open a chat window then you'll have to call the customer service number. Mouse over "Call Us" and a telephone number appears. Call the number to speak to a Netflix representative.
Changing Account Information
If you would like to change your Netflix account by adding a new viewing plan or turning on social settings, for example, go to the Your Account screen. You can reach the Your Account screen by using the navigation menu that appears when you mouse over or click your name in the upper right-hand corner of the Netflix window.
The Your Account screen lets you change your email address and password, cancel your subscription, cancel or add a streaming plan or DVD plan, and make other changes. If you have a gift code or a special offer code you can redeem it on the Your Account screen.
Ordering DVDs and Blu-ray Discs
You have to have a DVD plan to order DVDs, a Blu-ray plan to order Blu-ray discs, and a streaming plan to watch online selections.
To find a DVD click the "DVDs" menu selection at the top of the Netflix opening screen. The DVD catalog appears. Each title will have a button beneath it. The "Play" button means the title can be streamed instantly. The "Add" button means the title will be added to your DVD queue for delivery. "Discs" and "Choose Discs" means the title has numerous discs and you will need to select them individually.
The Blu-ray plan works like the DVD plan. To locate Blu-ray discs, go to the DVD catalog, and then click the Blu-ray link at the top of the screen or mouse over "Browse" on the menu and click the "Blu-ray" link. Blu-ray selections are added to your queue just like DVD selections.
You can see your queue by clicking "Queue" in the menu at the top of the Blu-ray or DVD catalog screen. The queue can hold up to 500 selections. Netflix sends selections in the order in which they appear in the queue. If a title is in high demand or not available, it will be skipped and the next title will be sent. Skipped titles are sent as soon as they become available. You can rearrange the order of the queue and cancel items using the controls on the Queue screen. If you try to add a title after the queue is full you will get an error message.
