How to Retrieve Deleted Calls From Cell Phones

By Michael Jones

You can retrieve deleted information from your cell phone as long as it was once stored on your Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card. This little card, measuring millimeters long and wide, is the brain of your cell phone. It is capable of logging all types of information that goes through your phone. If you have a SIM card reader, you can go through your list of contacts, organize your phone and even retrieve deleted text messages and phone calls.

Things You'll Need

  • SIM card reader

Step 1

Purchase a SIM card reader that is capable of retrieving deleted calls. Check the features of the reader and make sure this is one of its functions. Most readers are no bigger than a flash drive, and they usually plug right into your computer's USB port.

Step 2

Connect your reader to your computer via the USB port.

Step 3

Insert the CD and install the software that came with your card reader.

Step 4

Remove the SIM card from your phone. To do this, take off the phone's battery cover and remove the battery. You will see a small card stored in the back of your phone. Either slide it out of place or unclip the mechanism holding the card.

Step 5

Insert the SIM card into the SIM card reader. Read the instructions of the SIM card reader to make sure you're using it correctly. Each reader is different.

Step 6

Open the program on your computer and follow the guide. You will have to find the part of the program that retrieves your call log to see any deleted calls.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some SIM cards are locked and won't be read by the SIM card reader. If this is the case, you will have to call your service provider to get the code to unlock it. If it's not your SIM card, you may be denied the code to unlock it.
