How to Retrieve Deleted Text Messages on an LG Phone Without a SIM Card

By Nicole Vulcan

Whether it's to retrieve an important deleted message or to check up on someone else's activities, you may want to retrieve deleted text messages from your LG phone. If you don't have the SIM card for the device, it gets a bit trickier, since the text data is often stored there. Some LG phones allow you to choose whether to save your messages and other data on either your SIM or the device's internal memory; if you've chosen the latter, you may be able to retrieve those text messages with the help of a data recovery service.

Step 1

Locate the website of a data recovery program that can access the device's internal memory, such as Mobile Phone Data Recovery, MobilEdit Forensic or the Mobile Internal Acquisition Tool. Read the documentation for the tool you choose to ensure that it will work with your type of LG phone.

Step 2

Download the data retrieval program from the website of your choice and follow the instructions to load it onto your computer.

Step 3

Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable that came with your device.

Step 4

Select the internal memory files from the list of files that appear in the file recovery program menu. Typically, these programs will display all the available files from the device in a format that looks like other file management systems you've seen on your computer.

Step 5

Select the text messages you want to retrieve and then select the "Retrieve" or "Restore" button. This will place the text messages back onto your mobile device. You can then close the program and eject the phone from your computer.
