By Matthew Fortuna

As long as the phone supports text messaging, the phone can receive e-mail.

Step 1

Open your e-mail program and compose a message. Be sure to include a title or subject for the message and make sure the message is 160 characters or less, the limit allowed by many cell phones.

Step 2

Add the attachment to the e-mail just as you would to send a regular message Click on the open text box to enter the e-mail address for your mobile device.

Step 3

Enter an e-mail address in the "Send To" box. The address will include your 10-digit phone number and your particular provider's e-mail address. Example for Verizon users: 1234567890@vtext.com

Step 4

Click "Send." The message and attachment will be sent to your phone as a text message.

Step 5

Open the text on your phone and you will be provided the opportunity to open the attachment as well.
