How to Send Mail Attachments From an iPhone

By KR Knowlin

The Apple iPhone lets you receive email attachments in multiple formats like Microsoft Word files, PDFs, Excel documents and more. Attach contact information, photos, videos and notes directly to your iPhone emails to share them with friends and family. The iPhone's fully functioning email program allows you to attach files to email messages, just as you would on a regular desktop email client.

Step 1

Navigate to the note, photo, video or contact you want to send as an email attachment.

Step 2

Tap the icon at the far left of the control bar at the bottom of the screen if you are sending a photo or video. Select "Email Photo" from the prompt that appears. This action will load the photo or video to an email composition message.

Step 3

Tap the small envelope icon on the task bar if you are sending a note. An email composition message will load with the note attached.

Step 4

Tap the "Share Contact" button if you want to email a contact. Select "Email" from the prompt that appears.

Step 5

Tap the "To" field, then type the address you want to email.

Step 6

Tap the "Subject" field, then type in a subject for the email.

Step 7

Tap the body of the email. Compose your email.

Step 8

Tap the "Send" button when you are ready to send the email.
