How to Send Voicemail
You may need to get an important message through without ringing the phone during an inopportune time. The send voicemail feature provides a convenient alternative. Several service providers, including Verizon and AT&T, offer the feature, which requires only a few steps to complete. Some restrictions may affect your ability to send voicemails. For example, the message recipient may be required to have service with the same company or reside in the local area to receive the message.
Call your voicemail access number. Press the "*" key and enter your password and then press the "#" key to accept.
Press the key that corresponds to the "Send Message" or "Send Voicemail" feature.
Enter the 10-digit phone number of the person to whom you are sending the message. You should hear a brief message and then a tone. Leave your message after the tone and press the "#" key for additional options. You can also hang up to send the message.
Select an option by pressing the corresponding key. Typically, you can select from urgent, private, future or, for example, if you need to send an urgent message, select the corresponding option and disconnect the call. The message is immediately sent to the recipient.
