How to Stop Facebook Mobile Texts

By John Mitchell

Facebook mobile texts is a feature of the social networking site where you can receive messages, status updates and notifications from your friends. You have two ways to stop the text message service if you no longer wish to use it. The first option involves signing into your Facebook account from a computer and going to the settings area. The other way is to send a de-activation message to the designated Facebook short code number. Whichever you choose, you can permanently turn off Facebook mobile alerts.

Mobile Tab

Step 1

Log in to your Facebook account and click the "Account" option from the top navigation bar.

Step 2

Select "Account Settings" from the sub-menu and click the "Mobile" tab.

Step 3

Locate the "Facebook Text Messages" section. Click the "Off" radio button under the "Texts Are" option.

Step 4

Click "Save Preferences" to save your choice and disable Facebook mobile texts.
