How to Transfer a Number From Cricket
When you transfer phone services, you don't need to leave your old number behind. You can take your Cricket mobile number to your new carrier, using a process called local number portability. If your new carrier provides service in the same area, the new carrier will activate your previous Cricket number. You start the porting process by contacting your new carrier. The carrier representative will take some information, and you'll soon be on your new phone with your old number.

- Account Password or PIN
Contact your new cellular provider. Some providers allow you to switch numbers using a form on their website, but most require you to call and talk to an agent. You can dial "611" from your new phone, or call the new carrier's toll-free number from another phone.
Select the menu option for customer care.
Verify your account with the customer care agent. You may need the last four digits of your social security number or the password you used to set up the account.
Advise the customer care agent you will be porting a number from Cricket. The agent may need to transfer you to a different department. The agent will take down the information and start the transfer process.

- The process may take anywhere from a few hours to a few days.

- Do not cancel your Cricket account before you contact your new carrier about transferring your number. The number must be active in order for the porting request to go through.
