How to Transfer Notes From iPhone to iPad

By Alexander Poirier

Apple's iPhone and iPad devices use the same iOS operating system and the same iTunes media management program to manage the content stored on their hard drives. Because of this, it is easy to transfer the files stored on one device over to another. If you want to transfer the notes stored in the "Notes" app on an iPhone over to an iPad, you can do so in a few steps.

Things You'll Need

  • iPhone/iPad USB connection cable

Step 1

Connect the iPhone to the computer via the USB connection cable that came with the device. Double-click the iTunes application icon to launch the application.

Step 2

Click the iPhone listed beneath the "Devices" heading. Click the "Info" tab and scroll down to the "Other" heading. Place a checkmark next to the "Sync notes" option. Click the "Sync" button to sync the iPhone notes to the computer. Once the syncing process is finished, click the "Eject" button and eject the iPhone from the computer.

Step 3

Connect the iPad to the computer via the USB connection cable that came with the device. Click the iPad listed beneath the "Devices" heading.

Step 4

Click the "Info" tab and scroll down to the "Advanced" heading and the "Replace information on this iPad" window. Place a checkmark next to the "Notes" option. Click the "Sync" button to sync the notes from the iPhone onto the iPad. Once the syncing process is finished, click the "Eject" button and eject the iPad from the computer.
