How to Troubleshoot iPhone Voicemail
Voicemail problems can be frustrating, especially if you are expecting an important message. Accessing voicemail on an iPhone sometimes fails if your account is not properly set up, or if you updated your firmware. Many of these problems are simple and can be resolved in less than 10 minutes. No specialized computer skills are necessary.

Make sure you have a good network connection. If your network connection is fine, dial your number on your iPhone to ensure your voicemail is properly set up.
Connect your iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes if it does not launch automatically.
Locate your iPhone in the left pane under "Devices" and click it. Click "Update" to install the latest firmware if your phone is not up to date. If your iPhone is up to date, disconnect your phone from your computer.
Remove your SIM card. To do so, insert a pin or toothpick into the tiny hole on the SIM card slot and push downward until the SIM card slot pops out. Remove the SIM card for five seconds, and then reinsert it.
Contact your carrier if you are still experiencing problems.
