How to Turn Off the Safe Search Filter in Flickr

Flickr’s SafeSearch filter is designed to protect you from images you might not want to see online, but if you’re not at work and don’t have children using your computer you might not want your search results to be censored. If you choose, you can remove SafeSearch from your Flickr account to view all content on Flickr. If you remove the SafeSearch filter, you are also confirming that you are 18 or older and take full responsibility for images you may see.

Step

Navigate to Flickr.com and log in to your account.

Step

Click the link for your user name in the top-right corner of your homepage to access your account settings.

Step

Click the “Privacy & Permissions” tab and scroll down to the “Content Filter” heading.

Step

Click the “Edit” link next to “Search Settings.”

Step

Click “SafeSearch Off” and then click the “Save Settings” button to apply your changes to your account. Your searches on Flickr will now yield unfiltered results.
