How to Uninstall Smartphone Apps

By Michelle Varsallona

When your phone's memory starts to fill up, you have to be ready to start deleting applications and cached files. Take a moment to consider how many of your downloaded applications you actually use. You can probably uninstall a handful of them to free up space. Not only are you freeing up memory on your phone, but you are also making room for more applications you may want to install.

Step 1

Open the phone's "Options" or "Settings."

Step 2

Select the "Programs" or "Applications" within the menu. You will either be presented with the list of applications or you must select another option to remove, delete or uninstall programs/applications from the phone.

Step 3

Choose the application you want to remove.

Step 4

Press the button, or open the menu and select the option, that says "Uninstall," "Delete" or "Remove."

Step 5

Confirm that you want to remove the program. It may take a moment to uninstall it from the phone and the phone may need to restart after it completes.
