A lot of parents have mixed feelings about the end of August. On the one hand, it's great to get a little break and send the kids back to school. But on the other, it's tough to say goodbye to great weather and freedom from homework supervision and all of the responsibilities that school brings with it. And that's to say nothing about how expensive it can be outfitting kids for back to school. I feel your pain—and with that in mind, I went hunting for a few deals on some back-to-school tech basics.

Whether your little one is heading to school across town or across state lines, staying in touch is a must. Best Buy can help you do just that with the Samsung Galaxy J3 smartphone for Boost Mobile. BestBuy.com has it for $99.99, $80 off its normal selling price there, and 20 bucks cheaper than the lowest price we found for it elsewhere, $120.
A printer is another back-to-school staple, and Groupon is offering a good price on the Canon Maxify Wireless All-In-One Printer MB5020. It is listed at $299.99 on Canon's site and typically sells for anywhere from $120 to $200 at most retailers. Groupon is offering this model for just $89.99. The Maxify offers printing, scanning, and copying, and has built-in Wi-Fi for wireless printing.
Though it's a great idea, these products tend to be pricey, selling for $100, $200, or even more. But not if you head to Woot. The discount retailer is offering the BayouTech Solar Backpack for $89.99, less than half its $200 list price, and well below the $115 that the bag typically sells for. If you need more than one backpack, you can save even more, as Woot is offering two of these bags for $149.99.
I hope these deals can ease the pain of back-to-school season, if only slightly. Best of luck as the new school year begins!
