It’s the middle of the summer—the perfect time to stay inside and keep cool, or get outside and get moving. We all deal with the heat in our own way. Luckily, there are great deals to be had on products that can keep both the sit-still camp and the let’s-go camp happy.

Not sure whether the dog days of August are the best time to play video games? Well, it’s definitely the perfect time to shop for PlayStation 3 hardware at Target, anyway. The retailer’s Cartwheel app, which enables you to apply digital coupons to items purchased in-store only, is offering 50 percent off all PlayStation 3 hardware through August 6. A PlayStation 3 console can run anywhere from $100 to $200, depending on the configuration, so this is a chance to save big.

For people who are ready to get up and move, Amazon is offering a good deal on Jawbone’s sleek UP4 activity tracker. It sells for $149.99 on Jawbone’s site and for about $100 on others. Amazon is offering the UP4 at a significant discount in both the silver version (for $78.54) and the black version (for $78). Either way, you get a good-looking wristband that tracks your steps and calories burned, and lets you make payments from a connected American Express card.
