It's been over three years since Beats released a new version of its swanky, wireless Studio headphones. But it finally happened — the updated version of Beats is here, and they're pretty rad.
Just by looking at them, it's impossible to tell the difference between the Studio 3, the Studio 2, and the Studio 1. In fact, the new Studio 3 headphones are basically a larger, over-ear version of the Solo 3 Wireless. Aside from updated ear cushions, the rest of the updates aren't visible.
The new headphones are wireless, just like the Studio 2, but they're a different kind of wireless. To help tune out distractions as you listen, Beats created Pure Adaptive Noise Canceling (Pure ANC), a new technology that continuously monitors ambient noise and alters its noise-cancelling approach based on the surrounding changes in sound. Once you enter a new environment that's either quieter or louder than the one you just left, it takes around five seconds to adjust. The system also features advanced venting and ergonomic pivoting for a custom, flexible fit that keeps the music in and the noise out.
Beats offers the new headphones in six colors — White, Red, Blue, Matte Black, Shadow Gray, and Porcelain Rose.
The Studio 3 Wireless also include Apple's W1 technology, which makes pairing with nearby iPhones, iPads, and Macs incredibly quick and easy. The battery life should reach up to 22 hours with noise cancelation on or up to 40 hours in audio-only "low power" mode. However you choose to listen, the audio quality doesn't change.
Buy the new headphones here for $349.95. According to Apple, they'll ship sometime in October.
