How to Change a Comcast Email Address
Whether you have personal reasons to change your email address, like a new married name or the birth of a child, or you are looking to incorporate a job title or a company name into your email address, Comcast allows you to change your email with little effort.
Consider the important elements you want to be included in your new username. For example, you may decide that your new Comcast email address must have your complete last name, but does not need to have your complete first name.
Use a computer with Internet access. Changing your username can be done from a personal computer or a public computer such as one at a public library.
Go to the Comcast website. Sign in to your account by clicking on the "Sign In" icon located along the top of the Comcast homepage.
Fill in your current username, the email address you plan to change and your password. Once you click on "Sign In" you will be brought back to a personalized version of the Comcast homepage.
Select "My Account" which can be found in the third row down on this personalized Comcast homepage. This row is a dark blue color and the icon is located on the far right side.
Click on the link labeled "Change My User Name/Email". You will be brought to a webpage that clearly states the guidelines for changing your username and the requirements for your new email address. Read this page carefully.
Select the email address you want to change from the drop down menu at the bottom of the page.
Enter your most desired username in the box labeled "Requested User Name." This will be your new email address, if it is not already in use. Then click on "Update." Enter other email address options as needed, if your first choice is not available.
Tips & Warnings
- Send a notification to friends, family and other contacts with your new email address change.
- Changing your email with Comcast does not change your password. This can be done separately.
- Double check the email address you submit before hitting "Update." You do not want to find out too late that you misspelled a word or that it wasn't the username change you meant to make.
