How to Change Your Picture in Skype

By David Weedmark

Keep your Skype account current by changing your profile picture, which takes just a minute and is something you can do directly in the app. If you use Skype for Windows' Modern UI, you can upload any photo from your computer. If you have the Skype desktop app, you can also take a snapshot directly in the app.

Skype for Windows Desktop

Step 1

Launch Skype for Windows Desktop. Click the "Skype" menu, select "Profile" and click the "Change Your Picture" option.

Step 2

Take a picture using your computer's camera simply by clicking the "Take Picture" button. If you don't like the picture, click "Try Again." If your computer has more than one camera, you can change it by using the Choose a Different Webcam menu. To upload a photo that's already on your computer, click the "Browse" button.

Step 3

Resize the picture as desired by dragging the slider. When you're happy with how it looks, click the "Use This Picture" button.
