How to Chat With a Representative on AT&

The AT&T website offers a variety of help files that allow you to search for and find solutions for common problems. However, you might prefer to deal directly with an AT&T representative if you have trouble navigating the help files or are unable to find a solution for your specific issue. If you would rather not call AT&T or are unable to use a phone, use the website's live chat option to chat with a representative on your computer.

Step 1

Type the address "" in your browser's address bar and press "Enter" to view the AT&T home page.

Step 2

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Contact Us" link. This opens the AT&T Contact Us page.

Step 3

Click the drop-down menu on the page and select "Personal." Click "Go."

Step 4

Type your ZIP code or home phone number and click "Go."

Step 5

Click a link at the top of the page to select a general category for your question, such as "Technical Support."

Step 6

Click a link to select the AT&T product that you need help with, such as "DSL High Speed Internet."

Step 7

Click the "Live Chat Support" button under "Get Assisted Help" on the right side of the page.

Step 8

Complete the fields in the chat window to enter your name, phone number, location and support topic. Click the "Start Chat" button to chat with an AT&T representative.
