When you are unsure of which version of Internet Explorer that you are using, you will need to know how to check so that you can make sure that you are running the latest version. Internet Explorer does change versions often and there may also be critical updates that you will need to install for the version that you are using. It is important to know which version you have and if there are any updates or upgrades.
Open your version of Internet Explorer from your desktop or from the start menu by clicking "Start" and clicking "Internet Explorer."
Click on the "Help" button at the top of the page and a drop down menu will appear. Move the curser to "About" at the bottom of the drop down box. Double click "About" and another pop up box will open.
Read the information in the pop up box, which will tell you the version of Internet Explorer that you are using. If you are not using the most current version, you may need to upgrade to the current version, which is required by many websites when new versions become available.
