A recording you've made with Camtasia Studio may be worth sharing, but it'll be difficult for others to watch it since it uses the proprietary .camrec file format, which most digital media players don't support. When you're ready to share your recording, convert it to a more common format like AVI. Once the .camrec file has been converted, you can no longer edit it in Camtasia, but you can view AVI files on most digital media players.
Video of the Day
Click "Import media." Select the .camrec file you wish to convert to AVI and click "Open" to import it into the clip bin.
Drag the file onto the video timeline.
Click the "Produce and share" button to open the Production Wizard. Select "Custom production settings" from the drop-down and click "Next." Select "AVI-Audio Video Interleave" from the list of formats. Click "Next" five times to continue with default settings.
Type a filename into the Production Name box on the Produce Video screen and select a location for the file to be saved. Click "Finish." Once it's converted, the video will play and be saved to your selected location. Click "Finish" to exit the Production Wizard.
