FLAC files (Free Lossless Audio Codec) are large, lossless audio files. MP3s, a very common audio format, are very compressed file types, and are not as high quality. Finding a media player that can play and convert FLAC files can be tricky; however, VLC Media Player is a good choice for those who need to convert their FLACs. VLC is a powerful media player and transcoder capable of converting FLACs to a number of formats, including MP3s. Please note that you will lose some audio quality during conversion, because of the differences in FLAC and MP3 compression standards.
