How to Delete Barracuda Web Filter

The Barracuda Web Filter is also known as the Barracuda Spyware Firewall. The web filter is a complex Internet firewall that protects email and web browsing from incoming threats. The software is installed on the network and is available on office or school computers. It is also the security software available through Internet Service Providers, as a way to protect customers from spyware or spam. To delete the program, you will need to change preferences to disable the Barracuda Web Filter from running. Deleting Barracuda will stop spyware, email and firewall protection on the computer.

Step 1

Open a recent email message from Barracuda Web Filter. An email is sent daily showing which emails were blocked or which spyware has been quarantined on the computer.

Step 2

Scroll down to the bottom of the Barracuda email. Click on the "To manage your preferences click here." link. A new window will open.

Step 3

Click on the "Preferences" tab.

Step 4

Click on the "Quarantine Settings" tab.

Step 5

Select "NO" so that all messages are sent to your inbox and no longer filtered by Barracuda.

Step 6

Click on the "Save Changes" button.

Step 7

Click on the "SPAM Settings" tab, located to the left of the Quarantine tab.

Step 8

Click on "NO" so that Barracuda no longer scans emails for spam.

Step 9

Click on the "Save Changes" button.

Step 10

Click on the "Virus Checking" tab.

Step 11

Click on "NO" next to the "Enable Virus Scanning" option.

Step 12

Click on "Off" next to "Barracuda Real-Time Protection."

Step 13

Click on the "Save Changes" button.

Step 14

Click on the "Log Off" button, located on the topp-right corner. This will log you out of the Barracuda settings page and close the window.
