How to Delete Recent Search History on Yahoo!

Web browsers store information that you fill out in search engines, and the Yahoo! search engine and toolbar are no exceptions. If more than one person uses the computer, remove this information to protect your privacy. Deleting recent search history will clear the search boxes so no one is able to see what searches were performed. Each browser has a different way to clear the history.

Yahoo! Toolbar

Step 1

Open your Web browser.

Step 2

Click the "Settings" tab or pencil icon on the toolbar.

Step 3

Click "Clear Recent Searches."

Internet Explorer 8

Step 1

Open Internet Explorer.

Step 2

Click "Tools" at the top of the browser and select "Internet Options."

Step 3

Click "Delete" under "Browsing History."

Step 4

Check "Form data."

Step 5

Click "Delete."

Firefox 3.6

Step 1

Click "Tools" at the top of the browser and select "Clear Recent History."

Step 2

Select a time range to clear the history and choose "Form and Search History" from the list of items to clear.

Step 3

Click "Clear Now."

Safari

Step 1

Open the "Safari" menu in the browser.

Step 2

Click "Preferences."

Step 3

Open the "Autofill" tab.

Step 4

Click the "Edit" button next to "Other Forms."

Step 5

Select "Yahoo!" from the list of websites and click "Remove."

Google Chrome

Step 1

Click "Tools" (the wrench icon) at the top of the browser.

Step 2

Click "Options."

Step 3

Open the "Under the Hood tab" and click "Clear Browsing Data."

Step 4

Click the "Clear browsing data" box.

Step 5

Choose how far back you want to clear data under the "Clear data from this period" menu.

Step 6

Click "Clear browsing data" to finish.
