How to Dial Internationally With Walgreens' Calling Cards

By Madeleine Baber

Calling internationally can be an expensive hassle for just about everyone, as international calling rates are notoriously through the roof, and the steps to utilize the calling card can be long and complicated. Luckily, Walgreens distributes a series of calling cards that allow you to place international calls at a reduced rate per minute. All that is required to connect successfully is to input the required information at the appropriate time.

Step 1

Look up the country and city code for the person and location that you are attempting to dial by logging on to How to Call Abroad and choosing the country you want to call using the drop-down menu.

Step 2

Dial the 800 number on the back of the card. You will then hear an automated system that will ask for key pieces of information.

Step 3

Enter your specialized card number and PIN when prompted by the automated system.

Step 4

Dial the international phone number, beginning with 011 (the U.S. exit code) plus the country code plus the city code plus the recipient's phone number. You will then be connected, and minutes will be deducted from your calling card account.

Tips & Warnings

  • Purchase a calling card that has enough minutes preloaded onto it. Otherwise, you may be cut off in the middle of a call.
